"I might be the only 4 star review for this poor restaurant. The food was definitely not great or in line with the price - I had a bbq bacon cheeseburger for $19.69 - but it is a sit down restaurant (at Midway airport concourse B) and I’ll say the service was really lovely. My burger was on the drier side, the bun was a little stale as well, but it came with some salad and a smile. I also didn’t have to wait too long which is good when you’re at an airport."

"I can’t eat bread so I got the burger without a bun. I thought it was pretty good considering the other restaurant near by is priced similar for far worse food (M Burger, avoid that spot). Pricy due to being in an airport but I was happy with what I got!"

"The majority of the reviews talk about how grumbly or unhappy the staff workers are here. After coming here for a few times on various layovers, it’s unfortunately true. ~ However ~ our recent server Maggie did a phenomenal job and took great care of us! She got us drinks, ordered food for us promptly after. She took note of our drinks running low and immediately had them refilled before I could even request a refill. She was very kind and welcoming and we had a fun chat. She deserves a raise for doing an incredible job at an airport restaurant that currently has a 1.7 star review at the time of writing this. Thank you so much Maggie!!"

"Reasonable prices considering it's in the airport. I had a Cobb salad (for the same price that I pay at my local deli) and a draft I was very satisfied."

"First time here. Back to flying after a few years. Gene's Bistro is a new place to me. Our server was great! Food was good. A little pricey for what I had. Overall good experience. I would eat here again."

"It’s less than a week before Xmas, and I sat down at the counter just before 9am on a Tuesday morning. This place is bright, pleasant, and very clean. The staff here is lovely, and I thought the food was very good, especially considering this is an airport. I had the omelet with salad, and it was all very fresh. If I come through this way again, I will definitely stop here again! Rochelle and Andrea were on deck and they were really great."

"Not the best burger. Not the worst. It was okay. Service was very friendly and efficient. Biggest complaint I have is that they forgot the bacon to my bacon cheeseburger… I was too hungry and didn’t realize until I finished it. The meat was also overcooked and dry. For being airport food, it was decently priced."

"I had a great experience at Gene’s Gastro. The burger was delicious, and the price was fair—especially for an airport. If you’re not ready for airport prices, eat before you come. I’d eat here again!"
